Update 6.22.11

I thought I should update my journal again, so here I am.  Not alot new to report, but I'm working, reading, gaming, and doing the art thing when the mood strikes me on my days off.  Life is decent.

I guess it was a month or two ago when I decided I wanted to do another journal skin collab with my lady gillianivyart  She is always working on new journal skins for DA it seems, and being as the Reaper journal skin  fav.me/d36dhff  was well recieved, it inspires me to do another with her.  I started some new line-work with this in mind, but as usual, I got a little ambitious and perhaps even "over-reaching" just a bit.  So my art portion of the collab is of course dragging the whole thing down because once again, I'm taking forever!  I have so many unfinished projects... It is sad really.  I take so long to complete this stuff I end up boring myself.

Regardless, because I like my journal posts to actually have a point besides my inane ramblings, here's a work in progress shot of my new line-work so far.

will be posting some work in progress photos into my scraps as my new / latest project progresses. Clicky the thumb below if you want a peek.

his project began mostly due to my gaming addiction.  While playing shooters or any type of fast-action twitch games I begain to get anoyed because the cord on my mouse kept getting stuck under the bottom corner of my dual-monitor stand.  Constantly.  I'd go to turn and shoot etc. and mid movement, my mouse would just stop.  Not fun, and the source of much cursing on my part.  This lead me to try to figure out a way to stop this from happening all the time.  I set some junk on my desk. I rolled the cord up a bit.  Tried some tape.  It all worked to some degree BUT I wasn't happy.  So I decided I would make something - and be artistic at the same time.  

E

nter the new project.  A small-ish sculpture designed to look cool, AND control the cord on my mouse.  I decided on a millitant/soldier type thing because of FPS's giving me the most trouble with the cord. And besides... Statues of dragons or skulls (ideas I kicked around at first) or generaly anything "fantasy" is so much more common than what I settled on in the end.  Being as I actually finish projects so infrequently, I thought I would do some WIP shots of this along the way, all the way to the final painted statue.  At least it makes me feel like I'm submitting something, and worthy of watching.  Click on the featured box below to see my progress so far!

es, I havn't submitted anything new in quite awhile.  Here are my excuses.

  I play too many computer games.

  I watch too much Anime.

  I've been uninspired, and unhappy with all sketches and drawings I've attempted lately.

  I have been working on a few diffrent projects off and on for awhile now.  I'm still playing around with the background and colors for the final version of my Jump Rope piece.  I have a new coloring piece I've started featuring my all-time favorite comic book character.  I've also been working on a sculpture for a couple weeks. ( preview fav.me/d36e1j6 )  I hope to have at least one of these projects finished and submitted by the end of the month.

he Reaper Journal skin has been fixed for IE, and has been resubmitted and slightly tweeked by gillianivyart  You will need to install the new version if you still want to use it, or keep it for your collection.

New Reaper Journal Skin

EDIT:  WTF.  The reaper journal skin just died for IE.  Background isn't showing up anymore, but it still works fine in firefox, and I didn't change anything.  Reverting back to my old layout, till me and gillianivyart figure this out and get it fixed.

ust finished the shiny new Reaper Journal Skin in time for the Halloween season.  A nice dark-ish skin that works as a seasonal skin, or looks good if you are into dark/horror type themes. Much love and thanks to my Girlfriend gillianivyart for slaving away on the CSS code for this, and for putting up with me on a day-to-day basis.  If you like the skin, please take the time to check out her gallery.  Lots of cool and unique artworks, photographs, and journal skins in there.

might (maybe) fix up a slightly diffrent version of the skin to submit to my own gallery some time later.  I'm still thinking about that, and about possibly doing a downloadable wallpaper pack of the colored Reaper version. fav.me/d2z6enx
